It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you of the impending closure of the Admiral Nurse Cheshire Service in Partnership with Cheshire & Merseyside ICB and Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Trust.
Sadly, the funding for this vital service has ceased as of 31st March 2024, and our team is now in the process of decommissioning it. The service will officially close on 22nd May 2024.
Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the service evaluation, we have been unable to secure the necessary funding to sustain this invaluable resource for those living with dementia and their families in our community.
The Dementia Resource Community has explored every possible avenue to try to retain the service, but regrettably, no alternative funding sources have materialised.
This news is truly devastating, as we know the immense impact this service has had on the lives of those it has supported. Our hearts go out to all those who will be affected by this closure.
We remain committed to supporting the dementia community in any way we can, and we will work tirelessly to ensure a smooth transition and to explore alternative means of providing the necessary care and resources.
Referral Changes- Sadly funding for Admiral Nurse Cheshire Service in Partnership with Cheshire & Merseyside ICB and Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Trust ceased on the 31st of March 2024; our team are currently decommissioning this service which closes on 22nd of May 2024 . Chapel House Care -offers a drop in service to the public at out Cuppa Time sessions at GIFT Café Chapel House Lane, Puddington, CH64 5SW 12 MD to 3pm, where you can meet our Admiral Nurse to discuss your current needs. The service is also open to families transitioning in to our care homes and for on going support.
Nautilus Welfare Fund – provides its beneficiaries with access to the service which extends beyond Mariners’ Park, covering former mariners and their families in the wider community.
